About Me

I am a certified holistic health hoach and registered nurse with a Master's Degree in Nursing.  After practicing anesthesia as a CRNA for over 15 years, I found my true passion when I read Paul Pitchford’s book, Healing With Whole Foods.  I had begun searching for alternative treatments in response to my daughter’s medical challenges.  When I realized that food can heal (or harm) the body, everything changed.

My daughter was born with a congenital bowel defect and endured several surgeries before her first birthday. After a final, highly specialized surgery at the age of eight, my daughter was sent home with a list of medications that were intended to help her maintain continence. But the medications contained so many chemicals and food dyes that I just wasn't comfortable putting them into her body.  I tried unsuccessfully to find a natural supplemental alternative.  I then began to research dietary solutions that might alter her body’s response to food and improve the function of her gastrointestinal tract.

While personally navigating my daughter’s medical condition, professionally, I was administering anesthesia to patients undergoing bariatric surgery; a process of “stapling” the stomach so the patient is forced to eat less food. I knew there had to be a better way to address the issue of obesity, and that there was more to being overweight than just eating too much.

I have learned that what we eat and what we don't eat can profoundly affect and heal our bodies.   And although I have a lucrative anesthesia practice, I decided to become holistic health coach to fulfill my passion of working with people to improve their health and family life.  A busy mother of three young children myself, I understand the challenges my clients face trying to juggle work, family and personal health.   After realizing that optimizing one's nutritional status was foundational to implementing gradual, sustainable lifestyle changes, my specialty as a nutritional consultant evolved through many hours of study and training.

I received my training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and am certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. My education has equipped me with an in-depth knowledge of holistic nutrition, health coaching and preventative health.  Drawing on this skill set and my extensive background in Western medicine, I offer a uniquely comprehensive approach to health and wellness promotion.

I lead workshops on nutrition and offer individual as well as group health and nutrition coaching. I work with my clients to develop a personalized nutrition/lifestyle program based on their goals to move them toward their ideal vision of health within their unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources.

As a nutritional consultant and coach, I put the power back in YOUR hands.
